Greenough Road
Cooperstown, NY 13326
Conservation Area: Oaks Creek
Protected: March 2011
Size: 16 Acres
Greenough Road Conservation Area has an established trail with access to Oaks Creek, a designated trout stream. Parking is along the road, and paddlers should be prepared carry the craft about 375' to creek-side.
Motivated to protect 16-acres along Oaks Creek, Bob and Marcy Birch placed a conservation easement on the Greenough Road parcel with Otsego Land Trust, who partnered with The Nature Conservancy to protect this site. The Birch family also worked with the New York Department of Environmental Conservation to open this site to the public for fishing, hiking, and paddling.
