Otsego Land Trust connects people to the land and water that sustains us through conservation, restoration, stewardship, and education.
This means maintaining wild places for public enjoyment, facilitating educational programs and events, and watching over our lands to make sure their ecosystems thrive. On properties like Parslow Road, OLT may even restore the native plant life that existed before development took over.
We also keep our air and water healthy by protecting lake shores, stream beds, and forests.
One of the most important tools we use to protect land is the conservation easement. Conservation easements allow people to protect their own land in perpetuity, with landowners becoming our most important partners in a nationwide conservation effort between land trusts from coast to coast.
