Join us for the fourth year of our annual Plein Air Painting event. Otsego Land Trust is partnering with Hyde Hall Historic Home & Museum to bring to the community, a uniquely inspiring and transportive day!

Artists and aspiring artists are invited to our fourth annual Plein Air Painting event. Plein Air Painting at Hyde Hall offers artists a special opportunity to capture the romantic landscapes and architecture of Hyde Hall while enjoying the company of other like-minded artists.

About this year’s Venue: Hyde Hall!

For the fourth year of our annual plein air painting event, Otsego Land Trust is partnering with Hyde Hall Historic Home & Museum to bring to the community a uniquely inspiring and transportive day! The event will take place on the lawn surrounding the magnificent historic home. Set in the rolling hills that overlook Otsego Lake, artists can fully escape into the romance of this inspiring setting.

At Hyde Hall, there is something for every eye! Participants may choose any spot or vista on the lawn, and are encouraged to capture the surroundings in any way they wish. From the lake, hills, architecture, flora, or follies, we look forward to seeing how each artist will capture this marvelous new venue. Plein Air Painting 2025 offers participants a unique opportunity for creativity and community, in support of conservation!

Hyde Hall is located on the northern tip of Otsego Lake, a part of Glimmerglass State Park.

The address is 267 Glimmerglass State Park, Cooperstown, NY.

The unique perks included in your registration:

  • Enjoy a continental breakfast of coffee, tea, and pastries on the porch of Hyde Hall.

  • Get inspired on the exclusive tour highlighting the art of Hyde Hall, beginning at 9 am.

  • A choice of a delicious picnic lunch by Hand Held Treats, taken on the lawn.

  • Mix, mingle, and share ideas with fellow artists throughout the day.

  • Exclusive use of Hyde Hall’s Wood Barn for refreshments and fellowship.

  • Registered artists will have the opportunity to exhibit and sell works created during the event. In the gallery exhibition titled Conserved on Canvas at the Cooperstown Art Association, from August to September.

Registration cost: $45 (covers everything listed above, with no additional fees).

Rain Date: Sunday, May 18th, 2025, from 8 am to 4 pm.

Please note that this is a one-day event, occurring Saturday, May 17, 2025, from 8 am to 4 pm. Glimmerglass State Park is open from sunrise to sunset; Artists are welcome to begin earlier or stay later on May 17, and are encouraged to return on another date if they wish. However eminities my be limited in off times.

People of all artistic abilities are welcome and encouraged to participate in Plein Air Painting.
